Nancy Swanson, LMFT

Over the past 25 years I have supported countless families during times of crisis. I specialise in working with families devastated by addiction, mental illness, and grief/loss. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and I am licensed by the State of California, Board of Behavioural Science. I am also a LifeCoach, and through the accessibility of tele-therapy, I can provide services to families far away who feel isolated and alone.

In addition to working with families in my private practice, I consult with programs to develop creative ways to engage families. I design, implement, and facilitate: Multi-Family Therapy Groups; “Friends & Family” Support Groups,; Psycho-educational workshops; and Intensive Family Weekends at different residential treatment and outpatient programs.

I can also customise an Intensive Family Weekend for any family, group of colleagues, or gathering of friends. Many past participants have stated that these weekends are “life changing” experiences that significantly improved communication and fostered healing for their fractured family relationships.

I like to think my down-to-early personality and sense of humour allows me to connect with even the most challenging of clients. I can ultimately help any family who is willing to sincerely examine, and work hard to transform their family dynamics.

In my personal life, I have eclectic interests which include: visiting obscure public art exhibits and museums; listening to music of all genres; growing succulents and cacti,; spending time with friends and family; enjoying the outdoors with my two dogs; and travel. I am a dedicated meditator and a spiritual seeker. I love adventure and crave new experiences. On my “Bucket List” is visiting all the National Parks, camping in a vintage teardrop trailer.
